Low Birth Rate in Taiwan

According to the reporting that “The government is considering allowing families that have a second child to hire foreign nannies in order to attempting the raise the country’s low birth rate”. For this policy, is it really can raise the country’s low birth rate? And why are young people so resistant to having babies?

In my opinion, I think this proposal that have a second child can hire foreign nannies will not help increasing the birth rate; it’s only the rich are able to hire foreign nannies to look after their children. In order to raise Taiwan’s very low birth rate, the Interior Ministry has not only asking the “slogan” to encourage couple to have child, but also preparing to spend NT$600 million to encourage couples to have more than two child. There are to be no income limits, allowing parents at all levels of society to take advantage. Every month until the child is two years old, the parents will receive NT$3,000 towards daycare fees. However, some members of the public think children are too expensive and others say it would be unreasonable to expect the government to pay the full cost of raising a child. Children are a part of their families, and some government subsidy is better than none at all.

Besides, I think, there is also a "money" problem that young people are resistant to have babies -- wages so low, housing and education costs so high. Probably the best solution is perfect society welfare of child, as like education that can improve our low birth rate. So that the parents cannot worry their child, he or she can grow up safety and happiness in this society. It’s really not the good ideas to hire nannies that has second child.
